राधा का जन्म

क्या आपको पता है ? आज भी बरसाना मैं राधा रानी मंदिर है जहाँ राधा रानी का बचपन बीता।

बहुत पुरानी बात है , विंध्य पर्वत महान हिमालय पर्वत से ईर्ष्या करता था . हिमालय पर्वत ने अपनी बेटी पार्वती की शादी भोले शंकर महादेव से की जिससे हिमालय पर्वत की ख्याति काफी बढ़ गयी थी । अब विंध्य पर्वत को भी एक भाग्यशाली पुत्री की इच्छा थी जिसका पति महादेव को युद्ध में हरा सके।

विंध्य पर्वत ने ब्रह्मा को प्रसन्न करने के लिए कठोर तप कीया । आखिरकार, ब्रह्मा प्रकट हुए और उनको वरदान दिया , लेकिन मन में सोचा कि वह कौन व्यक्ति है जो महादेव को हरा सकता है ? तब उन्हें याद आया कि भगवान कृष्ण की लीलाएँ पृथ्वी पर होने वाली थीं: , केवल वे ही महादेव को युद्ध में हरा सकते थे और कृष्ण की शाश्वत पत्नी राधारानी हैं। अगर विंध्य पर्वत को राधा उनकी बेटी के रूप में मिलती हैं तो उनका वरदान उचित होगा।

विन्ध्य को दो पुत्रियाँ हुईं । जब कंस ने पूतना को बच्चों का अपहरण करने का आदेश दिया , तो पूतना ने इन दोनो बच्चियों को विंध्य पर्वत से उठाया और हवा में उड गयी । राजा विंध्य ने चिंतित होकर ब्राह्मणों को मंत्रों का जाप करने का आदेश दिया . धीरे-धीरे पूतना कमजोर हो गई और उसने उनमें से एक बच्ची को नीचे नदी में फेंक दिया।

पूतना अभी भी दूसरी लड़की को गोद में लेकर उड़ रही थी, उसकी कमजोरी बढ़ गई और बृज के पास पहुंचते ही वह जमीन पर गिर पड़ी , पूर्णमासी को वह बच्ची मिली और उस बच्ची को वृषभानु ने गोद लिया । इस प्रकार उस दिन से वह राधा के नाम से जानी जाने लगी।

इसी कारण राधा को कई जगह विन्ध्य की बेटी और कई जगह वृषभानु की बेटी बताया गया है।

Birth of Radha

Do you know? Even today there is a Radha Rani temple in Barsana where Radha Rani spent her childhood.

It is a very old story, Vindhya mountain was jealous of the great Himalaya mountain. Himalaya mountain married his daughter Parvati to Bhole Shankar Mahadev, which increased the fame of Himalaya mountain a lot. Now Vindhya mountain also wanted a lucky daughter whose husband could defeat Mahadev in battle.

Vindhya mountain did severe penance to please Brahma. Finally, Brahma appeared and gave him a boon, but wondered in his mind who is the person who can defeat Mahadev? Then he remembered that Lord Krishna's Leelas were to happen on earth: only he could defeat Mahadev in battle and Krishna's eternal wife is Radharani. If Vindhya mountain gets Radha as his daughter then his boon will be justified.

Vindhya got two daughters. When Kansa ordered Putana to kidnap the children, Putana picked up both the girls from Vindhya mountain and flew in the air. King Vindhya got worried and ordered the Brahmins to chant mantras. Gradually Putana became weak and she threw one of the girls down in the river.

Putana was still flying with the second girl in her lap, her weakness increased and as she reached Brij, she fell on the ground, on the full moon day that girl was found and that girl was adopted by Vrishbhanu. Thus from that day she came to be known as Radha.

That is why Radha has been described as Vindhya's daughter at many places and Vrishbhanu's daughter at many places.
